I finished carving most of the major elements and have started the woodburning to see if it's going to look like what I see in my head! The combination of relief carving and pyrography seems to work well with the leatherwork designs, but it sure takes a lot of work. My hands cramped up pretty bad after a few hours of work. But it is looking pretty good, despite my lack of pyrography experience. You can find some more pictures here:
